The planned maintenance programme, which has still to be finalised, is expected to deliver a spend of at least £80m, rising to £500m if other registered social housing providers adopt the framework.
Six firms will be invited to bid for a single place on each of the seven regional lots covering decent homes-style upgrade works.
The contract will start in April 2014 in line with Places for People’s financial year.
Regional lots
- Lot 1: North East, upgrading 2,702 properties (£16m)
- Lot 2: North West, 4,299 properties (£27m)
- Lot 3: Yorkshire and Midlands, 2,415 properties (£16m)
- Lot 4: Milton Keynes, North London and Thames Gateway, 1,493 properties (£10m)
- Lot 5: South West, 739 properties (£5m)
- Lot 6: South East, 1,167 properties (£6m)
- Lot 7 is currently as required by Cotman Housing, 1,466 properties (£8m)
