The council hopes to consolidate its network of existing council offices into a new civil building at Knapping Mount.

Councillor Ivor Fox, Cabinet Member for Resources, said this move will bring greater efficiencies for the organisation together with the highest environmental and sustainability standards to minimise energy use.

At this stage the council is seeking to make the following appointments:

1. Architect (lead consultant)

2. Mechanical and Electrical Engineer

3. Civil and Structural Engineer

4. Quantity Surveyor/ Employers Agent

5. CDM Co-ordinator

6. Town Planning Consultant

This team will be appointed to design the new accommodation and in conjunction with the council’s project team, secure planning consent and deliver the premises.

It is anticipated that a contractor will be procured at RIBA Design Stage 3 / 4 on a fixed price contract.
