Betting Spy: Man City a big price to beat Chelsea

Odds of over 2/1 on Man City to win a Premier league match aren’t something you see every day.

City are a shorter price than that to win the league outright so Paddy Power’s price of 21/10 is worth snapping up – even if the opponents are Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Jose Mourinho’s side are starting to click.

But City have the edge up front where Aguero and Negredo are looking a lethal combination.

I watched City in action last week at Upton Park.

And sometimes you just have to take the blinkers off and admit to being outplayed by a better team.

Yaya Toure just ambles through games and is hardly the league’s most graceful midfielder.

But what a player. He’s an absolute beast and provides the perfect platform for City’s more artistic players to wreak havoc.

It’s sure to be tight at the Bridge but that extra quality up front makes an away win too tempting to resist.

City are sure to revel in playing on a proper surface after the midweek trip to CSKA Moscow where the pitch was so bad the groundsman resorted to painting bare patches green.

The dodgy pitch and a dreadful referee gave the game a whiff of park football.

All the players needed was the star striker to turn up drunk from the night before and a few fags at half time and the picture would have been complete.

Down in the lower reaches of the Premier League it was sad to see Ian Holloway and Crystal Palace part ways.

Tony Pulis is hot favourite to take over after Holloway said: “This club needs an impetus of energy.”

Worryingly for Palace fans Avram Grant is second favourite for the job.

I can’t think of Avram’s time at West Ham without reaching for the Scotch bottle,  but “impetus of energy” is not the first phrase that comes to mind.
