Reisner is currently Director of External Affairs at CECA, and has worked for the organisation since 2008.

He will take up the new role next April and succeeds  Mark Roper who has led the national team since 2011.

Roper is continuing as Director of CECA’s growing Yorkshire & Humberside region – a role that he has held on a joint basis alongside his national responsibilities.

Roper said: “Three years ago CECA embarked on a programme of transformation, and an integral part of this was to consider succession management for the leadership of our national business.

“We identified that Alasdair had tremendous potential to grow within our organisation and have put in place support to allow this development. Our business is now ready to face the challenges that lie ahead as the economy returns to growth.”

Reisner said: “Over the last five years CECA has achieved a great deal to provide support to its members during challenging times for the economy.

“We are starting to see some positive signs of growth for contractors, but it is essential that we continue to make the case for our sector, highlighting the vital role that infrastructure plays in the lives of everyone in the UK.

“I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to lead CECA’s national team, ensuring that we continue to provide a powerful voice on behalf of our members.”
