Betting Spy: Big guns to fire in 5/1 accumulator

Sometimes you can make this betting lark too complicated by poring over stats and odds for hours to dig out a bit of value.

This weekend I’m taking a different approach and sticking with an accumulator of big guns who roll-up to a tasty price of just under 5/1.

First up is one of the biggest no-brainers of the season – Liverpool to beat West Ham.

Anfield is a total graveyard for the Hammers with their last victory coming back in 1963.

I had nightmares last night imagining what Luis Suarez might do to James Collins so let’s just hope “Big Ginge” and his colleagues aren’t totally humiliated while knowing a home win will get our acca rolling.

Next is Man City to win at Southampton.

The Saints’ impressive start to the season has been based on a solid defence.

But they’ve shipped six in their last two games and City aren’t the side you want to face when your back line has started springing leaks.

Chelsea to win at Stoke is the third leg of the bet.

Mourinho’s men always seem to find another winning gear and should have too much for a Stoke side sliding in the wrong direction.

The final leg is perhaps the riskiest with Man Utd tipped to beat Newcastle at Old Trafford.

This would usually be a home banker but Wayne Rooney is suspended and doubts still remain over the quality of United’s squad.

Luckily Newcastle are coming off a 3-0 drubbing at Swansea so an early United goal should see them sunk.

Betting Spy will be taking a week off next week while I’m touring Texas on a pre-Christmas break.

Sam Allardyce would like the football here – lots of set plays, big men throwing the ball away a lot while the best pass is a huge hurl from one end of the pitch to the other.
