Last year the firm won the contract to build the exhibition centre. Now the integrated 6-storey hotel has been added to the brief bringing the value of the job to more than £50m.
David Lawther, ISG Chief Executive, said: “I’m delighted to announce this latest high-profile win, which further demonstrates the improving conditions within the regional construction market.”
ISG will construct the four-star hotel and Exhibition Centre Liverpool building concurrently, with the facilities set to open for business in 2015.
Architect Denton Corker Marshall has created a striking off-set, rectangular ‘tube’ design for the new concrete frame hotel, which will feature extensive glazing and a double height atrium at its lower levels.
The steel frame Exhibition Centre Liverpool building will more than double the amount of exhibition space at ACC Liverpool to 15,225 sq m.
The three equally sized halls will be divided by moveable walls, with the centre capable of hosting major international exhibitions, conventions, concerts and sporting events.
