Around 2,500 firms had registered for a chance to meet more than 50 buyers at the home of English football.
And most made it to Wembley despite the second day of a tube strike across the capital led by Bob Crow’s RMT union.
The room was packed with potential suppliers looking to talk with buyers from big name contractors like Vinci and Kier.
One told the Enquirer: “This is a great event for us because we get to meet face-to-face with the purchasing managers of all these organisations in one day.”
Trade contractors queued-up to pitch to buyers in the bustling atmosphere of the Wembley event.
Constructionline director Philip Prince said: “The demand for this event has been phenomenal.
“Workloads in the industry seem to be picking up and days like these are perfect for putting buyers in touch with suppliers for those contracts.”
The Constructionline database now contains more than 22,000 subcontractors and suppliers used by more than 2,000 client organisations.
Constructionline’s army of pre-qualified firms means suppliers don’t have to waste time filling in unnecessary pre-qual forms for every tender.
Prince said: “We are all about making life easier for the construction industry by cutting down on duplication.”
