The complex scheme will also see a new school building, shops, offices and restaurants built on the 4.5 acre site at the corner of Battersea Park Road and Queenstown Road.
Taylor Wimpey said it expects to submit a planning application to Wandsworth Council in the next few months.
Construction is hoped to start towards the end of this year and to complete by late 2017.
There are more than 20 interconnected development sites, including Battersea Park East, that will transform Nine Elms on the South Bank alongside major new improvements to local
infrastructure.
The Vauxhall Nine Elms Battersea Opportunity Area, which has a vision for around 16,000 new homes and between 20,000 and 25,000 new jobs.
