D-Drill managing director Julie White said: “We have been in a period of positive negotiations with our bank about the on-going future of the company.
“The discussions have, in some cases, delayed payment to some suppliers but the successful conclusion of those talks means that backlog will be cleared in the coming days.”
Worried suppliers and employees contacted the Enquirer this week.
One said: “There’s a lot of uncertainty around at the moment with suppliers not being paid.”
White is one of the highest-profile women in construction.
She was named the Vitalise Business Women of the Year in 2011 and has appeared as a construction expert on a host of TV shows.
White said: “D-Drill has a proud history of success in the construction industry and our recent period of expansion – including the opening of our new London branch – will continue as before under the existing structure of the company.
“We will, in fact, be creating around 15 new jobs in the next 12 months as part of that growth.
“D-Drill has a very loyal customer and supplier base, and we look forward to continuing that relationship as we grow and thrive.”
D-Drill has a turnover of around £5m and employs 100 staff.
