A twin block, eight-storey Hilton Garden Inn hotel of 350 rooms will lead the scheme and be built on the site of an existing staff car park.
Last year MAG agreed a joint venture with the Beijing Construction Engineering Group to deliver the £800m Airport City scheme.
Developer Manchester Airport Group now holds a 50% share of the project, BCEG 20%, Carillion 20% and Greater Manchester Pension Fund 10%.
A planning submission to Manchester Council said: “The proposed hotel is the first detailed proposal to come forward for Airport City North.
“As such, the hotel must be able to exist on its own in the early phases and also be adaptable to the emerging proposals on adjacent sites.
“The hotel development will help increase the capacity of hotel rooms near Manchester Airport whilst acting as a hub of activity within the new Airport City North development.”
The Manchester office of URS are acting as consultants on the project.
