Doosan and Bobcat south west dealer Kellands (Plant Sales) secured the deal for the machines, which have been put to work on a housing scheme in Bristol.
Pete Rowland, plant manager at John O’Flynn, said: “The new excavators have joined a Doosan 22t DX225LC excavator we already owned.
Though the DX225LC model is an excellent machine for road work and other civil engineering projects, it is a bit too big for the groundworks contracts typically found in housebuilding.
“This is where the two new machines come into their own. With the 18 tonner, we are getting plenty of power and digging performance, which allows it to handle a lot of the heavy earthmoving work on site, whilst it is still compact enough for other work such as that on the new roads for the development.
“This is quite a big site, but the DX140LC-3 excavator is the perfect size for working on the foundations and between the plots for the new houses. The DX140LC-3 excavator is ideal for a wide range of our excavation and general construction applications.”
In addition to the groundwork and civil engineering aspect of the company, John O’Flynn operates a housebuilding and property development division.
