Costain was appointed under an Early Contractor Involvement contract for the £34m deal last summer.
Work is set to start on site in summer 2015.
Works will include the upgrade of the three mile A160 single carriageway to a dual carriageway, junction enhancements and the construction of a new link road and gyratory system and new bridges.
The latest award will see the MMG JV working closely with the Highways Agency to support the scheme through to the development phase towards construction, with the possibility of providing support throughout the construction and handover phase.
Stephen Russell, MMG JV director, said: “This award builds on the recent successful work the MMG JV has delivered on the A63 Castle Street Improvement and the A453 widening projects.
“The A160/A180 is an important scheme which will improve access to the Port of Immingham and generate positive local community and safety benefits. It will also act as a catalyst to open up regeneration and business in the area.”
“Our focus will be to work collaboratively with Costain and their partners to deliver an efficient and innovative integrated design and apply lean practices which will deliver added-value to the Highways Agency.
“We look forward to delivering this project through the development stage and ultimately through to the road opening stage, which is currently planned for 2016.”
