A joint venture between Helical Bar and Abbeygate Developments is redeveloping the existing Leisure Plaza into a new 200,000 sq ft attraction.
This will see BAM build a new casino, conference facilities and an 80,000 sq ft Morrisons supermarket, as well as extensively revamping the existing ice rink.
Degned by Q2 Architects, the new plaza is expected to take around two years to build.
Local firm Smith Construction Group has secured the groundworks package.
