Murphy wins £19m London power line deal

J Muphy has won the job to replace over 15km of high voltage underground cables between Ealing and Isleworth in West London.

The contractor’s power division will start this month in the Boston Manor Park area on preparations to install three 66,000 volt gas-filled cables between substations in Popes Lane in Ealing and Bridge Road and Osterley Court in Isleworth.

Murphy will be using a horizontal directional drill to install the ducting which will house the new cables.

This £19m project for Scottish and Southern Electricity is due to be completed by Christmas next year.
