Procurement directors from Lend Lease will attend supplier engagement days this week to meet potential package contractors.
Constructionline is hosting the events in Wrexham on Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 July for suppliers based across North Wales.
The 29-month project, delivering a new Ministry of Justice prison for North Wales, will create a secure environment for up to 2,100 prisoners at Wrexham Industrial Estate.
Dilara Rogers, Business Development Manager at Constructionline, said: “It’s great to see Lend Lease engaging with small builders in the region on a development of such scale.
“Main contractors are often keen to engage SME businesses in the communities where they’re overseeing projects, but can find it difficult to get access to this group, and vice versa.
“These events offer valuable introductions between both parties, helping organisations source quality suppliers and enabling contractors to meet procurement directors to learn about winning work in their area.”
Teresa Sykes, Procurement Manager at Lend Lease, said: “The new prison for North Wales in Wrexham is set to be a major development that will create long-term work opportunities for local suppliers.
“Hosting these events will open up access to a variety of quality construction professionals in the region and allow them to find out about our procurement processes for the project.”
The events are on Wednesday the 16th (9.00am to 6.30pm) and Thursday 17th (9.00am to 3.30pm) of July 2014 at Redwither Tower, Redwither Business Park, Wrexham, LL13 9XT.
