The order is JCB’s biggest this year from a UK customer.
A-Plant’s capital expenditure was £100 million in 2013 and the hirer plans to take its investment to similar levels this year.
The JCB order primarily comprises Mini and Midi Excavators, Loadalls, Rough Terrain Forklifts, Teletruks and 3CX Backhoe Loaders.
The order was placed through dealer Greenshields JCB, with whom A-Plant has traded for over 25 years.
Asif Latief, Marketing & Strategic Accounts Director at A-Plant said: “This level of investment in new JCB equipment is a clear indicator of the significant levels of business we are securing.
“Our customers can be rest assured that they are hiring the most innovative, reliable, safest and environmentally friendly equipment from us.”
JCB CEO Graeme Macdonald added: “This is a highly significant order and the biggest of the year so far for JCB in the UK. We are delighted that our relationship with A-Plant, which now stretches back more than 25 years, continues to go from strength to strength.”
