The proposed new Cubric medical facility, containing MRI and specialist scanners, will be located at the Maindy Park Cardiff University campus close to the city centre.
Phase 2 of the project will see the firm build a 60,000 sq ft unit in the wider scheme.
The new facility follows BAM’s contract to build £20m Hadyn Ellis medical research facility for stem cell research, completed last year.
