The Academy Trust governing the Rydens Enterprise School and Sixth Form College will fund the campus by selling off excess land at the site for redevelopment.
The new scheme, designed by Scott Brownrigg, will be built on the existing playing fields and the work is set for completion by September 2016.
Once finished the plan is to knock down the school in Hersham Road and build 200 to 300 homes on the remaining land.
