Galliford Try wins £44m Northampton Council HQ

Northamptonshire County Council has picked Galliford Try to design and build a landmark £44m civic building.

The Northampton town centre office block is designed to house 2,000 county council workers and will be built on a council car park in Angel Street, at the back of the current County Hall building.

Council chiefs say the new building, which was designed by BDP, will save up to £51m in future running costs.

Construction will now start in January 2015 on the 23-month building programme.
