The contract value is estimated at £30m-plus each year and includes an option to extend by a further two years in the East Midlands area.
The scope of works includes dig and lay services for new connections, infrastructure asset work and the repair of network faults, as well as all associated traffic management and reinstatement.
The award of the framework means that Morrison Utility Services will maintain its existing operational footprint in the East Midlands, while extending its geographical coverage to the Northern patch including Derby, Nottingham, Chesterfield, Mansfield and large areas of the Peak District National Park.
Charles Morrison, chief executive, Morrison Utility Services, said: “We are delighted to have secured this framework agreement that will see Morrison Utility Services working closely with Western Power Distribution across a broader geographical region.”
Last week Morgan Sindall revealed it had secured a similar agreement for Western Power Distribution’s west midlands region, also worth over £30m a year.
As part of the framework deal, Morgan Sindall will carry out both planned and reactive works.
