Two men were injured and taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service following the incident on Saint James’s Street.
The London Fire Brigade said: “It is believed the fire was caused by the ignition of flammable gases from five foam cannisters at the site.”
Two fire engines from Soho attended the incident.
The brigade was called at 1721 and the fire was brought under control at 1927.
