Frank Morris is now the construction, building and allied workers rep on the council after defeating moderate rivals.
Morris was a prominent opponent of the controversial BESNA reforms and has also been a victim of construction’s notorious blacklist.
Morris said: “I believe that my 22 years experience in construction, organising and campaigning on the major issues that affect our members in our industry, gives me a rounded view of the challenges faced by construction workers in this country today.
“As the rank and file candidate, we believe that it is highly important that we continue to have a progressive voice on the Executive Council and that I can play a major role in defending the rights of workers from the constant and systemic attacks that we face each and every day.”
