The new greenfield facility will include a GP practice and out-of-hours service, specialist clinics, a minor injuries unit and a base for community staff.
The decision means Hywel Dda University Health Board can now take the next step and develop a full business case for the facility.
The Cardigan Integrated Care Resource Centre forms part of the Bath House development scheme in Cardigan and will provide healthcare facilities for people living in all three counties of Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire.
Hywel Dda health board said integrated working would ensure “value for money” and it hoped to start building in 2016.
