The Enquirer understands that an announcement is due to be made on Friday following days of intensive talks.
Imtech UK and Ireland started “very active ” talks with potential suitors earlier this month after the Dutch holding company of M&E giant Royal Imtech NV was placed in bankruptcy.
The procedural step saw trustees appointed in Holland and the immediate sale of the two main operating divisions securing the employment of 7,300 staff.
The firm added: “Imtech UK and Ireland continues to trade independently with our management team remaining in control of the business, actively managing available resources to best advantage.”
Vinci has ruled itself out of a bid despite buying the Imtech ICT Division in October 2014 for €255m.
Other potential names in the frame according to industry experts include Laing O’Rourke and Brookfield.
