Contracts have now been signed for the £48m Eastbrook School in Dagenham.
The win gives Wates a hat trick following the Little Ilford School in Newham where construction is underway, and Eastbury School in Barking, where contract award was achieved last month,
All the wins are under the Barking, Dagenham and Newham batch of the Priority School Building Programme.
Wates is now looking to meet new local subcontractors and suppliers and the contractor has linked-up with Constructionline to host Supplier Engagement Day on Monday 16th November at Crème Conference Centre in Rainham.
Gerard Cox, Supply Chain and Procurement Director at Wates Construction Ltd, said: “This event provides an excellent opportunity for local businesses to promote themselves and maximise opportunities for the supply chain to not only access these specific opportunities but potentially build relationships leading to many others.”
Darren Lane, Business Development Manager at Constructionline, said: “This is a great opportunity for local contractors to partner with Wates and work on such a large project.
“Our events are specifically designed to help buyers that are looking to cost-effectively source suppliers and at the same time equip contractors with a knowledge of whether they are suitable before they begin submitting tender information.
“Constructionline staff will be on hand to answer any questions on suitability and how best to apply.”
