Contractors, consultants and materials suppliers in the Midlands are being invited to a free Meet the Buyer event this week at the home of Premier League leaders Leicester City Football Club.

Major contractors looking for suppliers will include Mears and Farrans Construction.

Management Cubed, Derwent Facilities Management and the Torsion Group, which specialises in student accommodation, will also be in attendance.

Confirmed buyers from the public sector include Harborough District Council and representatives from the NHS London Procurement Partnership who will be delivering a talk about their current work opportunities.

Tim Probert, client relationship manager at organiser Constructionline, said: “Our Meet the Buyer event in Leicester will be a fantastic chance for small firms across the East Midlands to discover how they can bid for upcoming work across many different projects in their area.

“It will be a valuable networking opportunity and provide a chance for our clients to strengthen their local supply chains. We’re looking forward to advising attendees on how we can aid them in gaining better access to work.”

Mark Perris, corporate asset manager for Harborough District Council, said: “We have a strong desire to support the local economy through building a strong supply chain here in the East Midlands, which makes events such as this so important for bringing together buyers and contractors to explore mutually beneficial opportunities in the region.”

The free event will run from 8.30am until 2pm on Thursday December 10. Suppliers do not have to be a Constructionline member to attend.
