The firm this morning confirmed the construction business had secured over £100m of new work, mainly made up of a mixed bag of smaller projects with most awarded under the Scape framework.
The construction services division also picked up several contract extensions bringing the total haul to £300m across the group.
These include two extensions to its existing Area 1 and 13 highways contracts worth up to £90m, which are needed as Highways England switches its contract model for the regions.
It has revealed plans to drop an asset support contract approach with one contractor in several areas in favour of managing the work directly.
Fresh invitations to bid are expected for areas 1, 2, 13 and 14 next year, forcing contract extensions with existing contractors.
Kier’s MAC contract for area 1 covering Devon and Cornwall has been extended by 20 months, while the firm will enjoy a 17-month extension on Area 13 in Cumbria and North Lancashire.
Mouchel Consulting and Kier Business Services have also picked up a £40m four-year contract to deliver consultancy services for North Yorkshire County Council, including estates management, property projects and highways services. This contract commences April 2016.
Kier Business Services is also preferred bidder for a £62m health support services framework for NHS Yorkshire & Humber Clinical Commissioning Group.
