For the first time in many years contractors missed out altogether in the roll of honours, with architects and consulting engineers left to represent the industry for their achievements.
Among the cream of the crop honoured with OBEs were former Buro Happold chairman Roderick McDonald and founders of architect Allies and Morrison, Edgar Allies and Graham Morrison.
