His new role will see him sit on the group technical committee to align group strategy and the engineering excellence group’s activities.
He brings more than 20 years’ experience in design and manufacturing, business transformation and major project leadership..
As part of Balfour’s UK construction leadership team, he was responsible for major construction operations, across transport, power, construction, civil engineering and engineering services.
Before that he worked with BAA for seven years, most recently as programme director at Heathrow Airport for two years but also as head of engineering on the Terminal 5 project before.

Millard takes up the position with Laing O’Rourke in mid-January.
