Winner for £34.5m Ferriby-Gilberdyke resignalling project

A £34.5m resignalling contract for the seven main stations on the 35 miles of railway between Ferriby and Gilberdyke in the East Riding of Yorkshire has been awarded to a joint venture between Ansaldo STS and Sheffield contractor Linbrooke Services.

Linbrooke will deliver signalling and power construction works as well as the telecommunications system design and construction under its part of the deal valued at £19.3m.

Consortium leader Ansaldo will design and supply the computer-based interlocking system between railway signals which will be introduced onto the route under its £15.15m deal.

The resignalling project begins this month and is due to be commissioned in March 2018.
