Enabling works are under way with completion of the Healthcare Building planned for summer 2018.

Main contractor on the job is the Integrated Health Projects joint venture between Sir Robert McAlpine and Vinci.

The team includes healthcare architects IBI Group, TB&A and Thomasons.

Work for the Royal Free London NHS foundation Trust will see construction of a new build five storey acute hospital including an urgent care centre, inpatients, eight theatres, day surgery, outpatient ambulatory care zone, imaging, diagnostics and supporting facilities.

IBI Group has reviewed the whole estate to release funds from land sales and integrating housing and a new school into the plans to support the local community.

The design team has also allowed for the future development of a new energy centre and multi-storey car park.
