The project to upgrade the route from Leeds to Stalybridge via Huddersfield primarily involves electrification and interchange improvements to help raise capacity between Manchester and York.
Network Rail is seeking innovative solutions from consortia of multi-disciplinary suppliers to deliver the programme of works, which are anticipated to cost anywhere between £800m and £2bn.
Network Rail will provide certain works as an alliance partner sharing risk and reward with the integrated team.
Network Rail aims to develop and design a solution and a programme of works, by the end of December 2017, with work targeted to start in 2018 for delivery by the end of 2022.
Expression of interest must be emailed to Network Rail stating company name and contact details for PQQ documentation.
There is no requirement at this expression of interest stage to be able to provide the full scope of works required prior to forming a bid consortium.
