Cambridge City Council confirmed that work is still suspended pending an investigation into the incident in May at the new five-storey community centre at Clay Farm.
Alan Carter, project leader for Cambridge City Council, said: “Due to these ongoing investigations the site remains closed, and will only re-open when the facts of the incident have been fully established.
“While the delays to construction of the new Clay Farm Community Centre are regrettable, all the partners involved in the project agree that health and safety is the number one priority.
“As project leaders of the construction, the city council is liaising closely with our contractor and their subcontractors to permanently resolve the issue as quickly as possible.”
