The latest in the framework haul is a place on the two-year £500m University of Cambridge Framework to provide a range of facilities including laboratories, teaching and lecture spaces and sport facilities.

Balfour Beatty, Bam Construct, Bouygues and Laing O’Rourke have also won places on the panel for projects worth more than £30m.

This award is the latest success for Kier with long-standing client the University of Cambridge. Kier has delivered over £200m of projects for the University, including a new £79m research facility in the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.

Kier has also confirmed it has secured a place on the four-year £4bn Department of Health Procure22 framework as one of six principle supply chain partners which commences in October. The other firms include: BAM, Galliford Try, Graham Construction, Interserve and Vinci/Sir Robert McAlpine joint venture IHP.

Kier Construction is a leading provider in the health sector having delivered over £170m of health projects over the last twelve months. It was also the most successful firm on the previous Procure 21+ panel of contractors.

The firm is also one of just five contractors to have secured a place on two five-year construction frameworks worth up to £750m at Gatwick Airport, first revealed a month ago in the Enquirer.

The frameworks cover building and civil engineering projects up to £10m as well as a smaller works framework for building projects up to £1.5m.

Kier Group chief executive, Haydn Mursell, said: “These awards demonstrate the breadth of our offering and the strength of our relationships with clients across a wide range of sectors, including healthcare, aviation and education.

“Such awards, which account for approximately half of our UK regional building revenues, enable us to work closely with our clients to deliver on their long-term requirements and they further bolster our strong Construction order book.”
