Galliford Try has reached agreement with developer Brookgate to build an £87m twin office block project in Cambridge.

Totalling 163,000 sq ft, the office scheme forms a key part of the CB1 masterplan around the station and is the largest speculative office building to be developed in Cambridge city centre.

Aviva Investors is funding the 50-60 Station Road development. The deal forms part of £434m of funding secured so far at CB1, helping to ensure that Cambridge continues to attract large multinational firms and retain its position as a major business and technology hub

Galliford Try has recently completed the new Ibis hotel and cycle park adjacent to Cambridge train station, which is part of a 26-acre masterplan around the area, creating new office and retail space, as well as student accommodation and a remodelled station and transport interchange.

Stephen Scard, Managing Director of Galliford Try’s Southern business, said: “We are delighted to be working once again with Brookgate on this exciting scheme which constitutes the largest speculative office building in Cambridge.”
