The new SMP procurement model proposes fresh ways of working between Highways England and the supply chain.
This will draw on an incentive-driven commercial model but crucially shifts towards an integrated operating model with Highways England.
To support the development of this delivery model, Highways England will consult with the industry during February and March through market sounding workshops, information sessions and written feedback from the market.
A full invitation to tender is expected in May.
