The existing major capital works framework partners Balfour Beatty, Bouygues, Morgan Sindall and Willmott Dixon now face a fight to retain their places with the council. The existing set up is due to expire in Autumn 2019.
Birmingham City Council is starting a market engagement exercise ahead of a formal invitation to bid later this year.
The new framework, which will have a £100m annual spend, is anticipated to be split in to lots with estimated project values starting at over £100,000, but the precise set up will be finalised after the the pre-market engagement questionnaire is completed by contractors.
Interested contractors are asked to register at the website before 1 June to receive the questionnaire.
