As part of the management shake-up Mace has also hired former Carillion chief operating office Andy Jones to head its major projects division.
He will join in September as managing director of the division, which will target projects worth more than £150m.
Jones brings significant overseas experience having run Carillion’s Middle East and North African arm from 2013 to 2016, before a 15-month stint as chief executive of Carillion Canada. He was appointed Carillion plc chief operating officer in October last year.
The other five divisions will be led by managing directors who are all internal Mace appointments.
Under the new structure Mace has brought infrastructure, aviation and retail into one division branded ‘Air’. This is being headed up by existing infrastructure and aviation boss Nigel Cole.
Simon Garrett, who joined at the start of the year from house builder Barratt where he headed up the Aldgate business, moves from construction special projects director to manage the Residential division.
Phil Couts becomes managing director of International and Technology, while Ged Simmonds leads the Commercial Offices division, and Terry Spraggett manages the public sector facing division PREACH – Public Estates, Research, Education, Arts and Culture and Healthcare.
