Betting Spy: Burnley a big price to win at Wolves

At least last weekend during the international break all Premier League teams picked up no points.

I’ll clutch at any positive after West Ham’s start to the season which has left plenty of people in the east end with an uncomfortable thought nagging at the back of their minds.

Is Manuel Pellegrini yesterday’s man rather than the leader needed to push the club to that mythical “next level”?

Four straight losses is certainly another level but not quite the one owners David Sullivan and David Gold had in mind as they splashed the pre-season cash.

There was a worrying lack of urgency and shape about the side against Wolves.

It seems Pellegrini has no idea what his best team is – while the tactics board must have the dust sheet still on because the players look like strangers.

A trip to Everton then home games with Chelsea and Man Utd hardly reek of points and the owners will face a big call if the losing streak hits seven.

But before that doomsday scenario let’s have a look at picking a winner this weekend.

And one price jumps off the coupon,

Wolves host Burnley and the visitors are a very tempting 9/2.

I watched Wolves beat West Ham last time out.

But to be honest I could have waddled out of my seat and cut through an Iron’s midfield with all the movement of a wardrobe.

Burnley have had a slow start after competing in the Europa League but this is the sort of game they excelled in last year and 9/2 is simply too big a price for a battle-hardened Premier League side against a newly-promoted team.
