Des O’Neill joined the fast-growing builder as a divisional director nearly six years ago from Thomas Vale where he was senior projects manager.
He progressed to director of construction and then took up the role of group managing director in 2015.
In a short announcement, the firm said following his departure, owners Andy Metcalfe and Steve Speller would resume their previous responsibilities as joint managing directors, enabling a smooth transition for the company.
O’Neill said he was now looking for a new challenge on his Linkedin page.
The builder, which is headquartered in Malvern and works from offices in Gloucester, London and Wolverhampton, has doubled in size over the last five years to a turnover of £127m in 2018.
Last year profits remained flat at £1.2m.
Further growth was forecast this year on the back Speller Metcalfe securing some larger contracts and several local and national framework places.
Founder Andy Metcalfe is coming back from retirement to take the helm with co-owner Steve Speller, who was acting as chairman, before the boardroom rejig.
Together they bring with them nearly 25 years’ experience at the business.
