The procurement relaunch comes amid growing concern among contractors about the balance of risk and reward on contracts.
At the London event on 4 September, procurement chiefs will outline the latest thinking and set out a procurement timetable.
The works up for grabs cover the design, installation, testing and commissioning of HS2’ safety equipment including tunnel ventilation fans; lighting; handrails; fire safety equipment and tunnel alarm systems.
There are nine tunnels in phase 1 of HS2 running to around 30 miles.
Last week HS2 revealed it was revising a £1.5bn track and overhead power deal following “increasing concern” from contractors over risk transfer.
HS2 said it had recognised the current market conditions were challenging and the increasing concern regarding risk transfer. It said it had revised its position to provide a better balance and overall outcome.
