The Enquirer has been contacted by firms left holding unpaid bills from Kent based Holmes Metrotech.
The firm was working on an M&E package for main contractor Willmott Dixon Interiors on its £19m job to fit out a new nhow hotel in Shoreditch, east London.
But Holmes Metrotech staff left site last Thursday and haven’t been seen since.
One project source said: “It’s a bit of a strange one. They left as normal one afternoon and no-one has heard anything from them since.”
Willmott Dixon is understood to now be working direct with the supply chain to pay them going forward.
But subcontractors are owed cash for work already carried out.
One said: “We’ve had a number of issues around payment from Holmes Metrotech and were in discussions with them.
“We were assured revised payment certificates would be issued but while those negotiations were going on they vanished from site.
“Now they are not responding to our calls or those from other firms owed money on the job.”
Holmes Metrotech has been contacted for comment.
