Hansford, who was a past president of the Institution of Civil Engineers and chief construction advisor from 2012-2015, was recognised for services to innovation in civil engineering.
He is joined by three other industry professionals earning the honour of CBE.
Professor John Nolan, formerly chairman Construction Industry Council and past president of Institution of Structural Engineers, architect James Fobert and Peter Freeman, who co-founded specialist urban regeneration developer Argent, were also honoured.
OBEs were handed to professor Phillip John Jones for services to architecture and to decarbonisation and professor Sadie Morgan, founding director of dRMM Architects, for services to the Advocacy of Design
in the Built Environment.
Innovation lead at Laing O’Rourke, Yewande Mayomi-Akinola, is made MBE for services to engineering and to diversity in STEM design and innovation.
