Newlywed Saeed Tahmasebi was travelling back to the UK with his wife from a holiday in Iran just weeks after their wedding.
Tahmasebi, 35, worked at Laing O’Rourke’s Dartford office for over three years and was a chartered structural/civil engineer in the firm’s Infrastructure Engineering Excellence Group.
He was also a researcher PhD candidate at Imperial College London and a graduate of the universities of Surrey, Greenwich and Tehran.
A spokesperson for Laing O’Rourke said: “Everyone here is shocked and saddened by this very tragic news.
“Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this most difficult time and we will do all we can to support them through it.”
