Joint developer Olympian and AECOM Capital are planning the 488-flat build to rent scheme, known as The Fairfax.
The £150m scheme represents AECOM Capital’s first investment in Europe.
Aecom’s construction arm, Tishman, is lead contractor for the project, which will involve building 23 and 29 storey towers, with concrete brick-slip cladding.
The development site at Portugal Street East is within a strategic urban regeneration zone in Manchester city centre, and is adjacent to the main Piccadilly railway station and the proposed terminal building for High-Speed 2.
The architect for the development is Jon Matthews Architects.
