ASSA ABLOY acquires site access specialist Biosite

Access giant ASSA ABLOY has acquired construction workforce management specialist Biosite.

Biosite Managing Director, Li Wang, sais: “With a shared vision to improve construction productivity through digitisation, a partnership with ASSA ABLOY made perfect sense.

“As the global leader in access solutions, ASSA ABLOY has the means and reach to enable us to achieve our ambitious growth plans, whilst giving us autonomy to develop the innovative technology-enabled solutions we are known for.”

Christophe Sut, Executive Vice President and Head of Global Technologies business unit Global Solutions at ASSA ABLOY said: “Biosite offers biometric access and workforce management solutions to the construction sector; maximizing security and safety whilst providing full visibility to material, design plans- and people flow on the construction site.

“Combining hardware, software and services the company is a very good fit with ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions.”

Biosite was founded in 2010 and employs 140 staff.

Its technology is widely deployed on numerous construction projects, with more than 650,000 workers now live on Biosite’s databases and in excess of six million biometric transactions captured each month.

Turnover in 2019 at Biosite was £14m generating an operating profit of £5.3m.
