The £50m School of Science, Engineering and Environment will be built at the Peel Park Campus and forms the central part of the university’s £800m, 240-acre masterplan.
Architect Sheppard Robson designed the four-storey building, which will contain specialist laboratories.
The site was previously occupied by Horlock and Constantine student accommodation blocks which were recently demolished to initiate the University of Salford’s masterplan.
Morgan Sindall is on board to deliver the project for the University of Salford with Arup and Ramboll providing consultancy.
