The £93m scheme will be Court Collaboration’s third build to rent project in the region and forms a key aspect of the wider New Garden Square plan being developed by Calthorpe Estates and U+I.
The project will see the transformation of the outdated commercial estate into a 10.7-acre mixed-use destination.
Once complete, New Garden Square will encompass up to 500,000 sq ft of grade A office accommodation, residential properties, bars, restaurants and convenience stores.
The scheme will be set around a public realm garden square.
Construction works on the apartments are expected to commence on site this spring, with completion anticipated in 2022.
Alex Neale, managing director at Court Collaboration, said: “The properties will be built using a wide range of modern and sustainable building methods, to offer a desirable rental investment opportunity in the city.”
