The land for development at Whinney Hill and Chesterhill Avenue, in the Thrybergh area of Rotherham has lain vacant for many years since the former dwellings were demolished.
To complete the scheme, Engie has brought together three housing provider partners to offer the mixed-tenure scheme.
Of the total homes, 84 will be run by Great Places Housing Group, Sanctuary Homes will get 73 new homes for both rent and shared ownership, while Wise Living will taken on 80 homes for market rent.
Engie has committed to use the local supply chain during the build process, as well as pledging to create apprenticeship opportunities.
The firm enjoys a longstanding relationship with Rotherham Council delivering housing maintenance for the council housing stock under a £60m 5-year deal.
