Activists from Extinction Rebellion and Stop HS2 disrupted work at the site where the Align JV of Bouygues Travaux Publics, Sir Robert McAlpine, and VolkerFitzpatrick is preparing for work to start on the route’s Chiltern Tunnel.
Protestors blocked entrances to the site with self-built structures which they locked or glued themselves to.
Hertfordshire Constabulary said 21 people were charged and bailed with conditions including:
- Not to interfere with the workings or operations of any HS2 site.
- Not to go within 500 metres of the HS2 site in Hertfordshire.
